An investment by a Dutch fund in a U.S. technology company and its Krakow-based subsidiary Wimba Poland

Research shows that orthopaedic problems affect about 20% of dogs, with canine limb amputations totalling two million each year and growing. Wimba, a VetTech start-up, has an idea how to deal with this problem.

Wimba is headed by three founders: Franciszek Kosch, Gregor Ko and Maciek Szczepański. Using 4D printing and a smartphone app, they make sure that animals get another chance at a happy life, free of mobility restrictions. In addition to producing orthoses and prostheses, they are getting ready to launch WimbaTherapy, a comprehensive therapy system for mobility disorders.

We are proud to contribute to such important projects! CK Legal represented the Founders’ interests in relation to the Level2 Ventures Fund’s investment in the U.S. company. The start-up has received PLN 4 million to fund the development of its products.

CK Legal’s team supporting the transaction consisted of Agata Kowalska, Antoni Liśkiewicz and Krzysztof Ściborowski. Ewa Helena Kamińska was responsible for Polish-American copyright protection matters.
